Mt. Stuart is a major peak in the Stuart Range, which lies in the southeastern portion of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness of Washington’s Cascades. We stand here in a boulder field near Stuart’s summit, looking east in the early morning toward the great dark crag that is Sherpa Peak, as clouds swathe the horizon.
